North Maharashtra districts of Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar are collectively called “Khandesh”. The district is famous for production of Bananas, Bananas produced in the district are of delicious quality and are exported to most of the districts of the state and Delhi as well as some foreign countries also. The economy of the district is primarily dependent on agriculture 70.9 per cent of the total workers are engaged as cultivators and agricultural labourers.
Jalgaon is a rail junction on West-East line as well as North-South line. Nashirabad Village in Jalgaon tahsil is the most populated (26131) and Wadgaon Nimb village in Jamner tahsil is the least populated (15). Bhusawal tahsil is having the lowest number of villages (50) in the district.

And its bananas are wholly produced by independent growers.
